2024 Review
In the past year of 2024, facing a complex and changing international environment, a rapidly evolving technological revolution, and an intricately intertwined global market, the textile industry has achieved growth in scale and improvement in development quality by focusing on expanding domestic demand, optimizing structure, boosting confidence, and preventing risks, continuously promoting industrial transformation and upgrading. Accelerating the deep integration of digital technology and the textile industry, promoting the pace of digital transformation in the textile sector, and driving the industry's high-end, intelligent, and green development, developing new quality productivity, becoming a new driving force for the industry's transformation and upgrading.
National policies guide and support high-quality development in the industry
In 2024, new policies and measures from the central government and various regions were introduced intensively, precisely targeting the direction guided by the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, involving areas such as enterprise digital transformation, intelligent manufacturing, and smart factories.
The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and other departments issued the "Implementation Guidelines for Digital Transformation of Manufacturing Enterprises," implementing the central government's deployment to improve the system for promoting the deep integration of the real economy and the digital economy, clarifying the path for the digital transformation of manufacturing enterprises.
In the national key R&D program "Intelligent Sensors," after the inclusion of spinning sensors in 2023, dyeing and finishing sensors were included in 2024, receiving financial support.
In the 5G factory directory released by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the number of textile enterprises listed increased from 16 in 2023 to 30 in 2024; by the end of the year, the Ministry announced the smart factories, with projects from textile companies such as Jialinjie, Bosideng, Hailan Home, Xin Fengming, Jinjiang Huayu, and Weiqiao Textile being recognized, showcasing an increasing number of advanced examples of intelligent manufacturing in the industry.
To encourage technology developers to play an important role, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the State Administration for Market Regulation announced the list of projects for the 2024 intelligent manufacturing system solution "reveal the list and take the lead," with textile industry projects from units such as Beizhi Institute, Beijing Aerospace Star, Fujian Unicom, Shaoyang Textile Machinery, and Guangzhou Intelligent Institute being selected.
Industry organizations actively carried out guidance and service activities. In July 2024, the China Textile Federation held a conference on the integration of the textile industry and information technology, promoting the transformation of the textile industry towards high-end, intelligent, and green development; in December, a conference on the digital transformation of the textile industry was held with the theme "Integrating Digital and Real to Weave the Future," promoting the deep integration of digital technology and the textile industry.
5G smart factories play a demonstrative benchmark role
The "5G + Industrial Internet" model is widely integrated into all aspects of the textile industry, with selected enterprises in 2024 covering multiple industries, serving as advanced benchmarks.
Fujian Jinyuan Textile Company, as a spinning enterprise, cooperated with Fujian Unicom to establish a big data platform for smart factories. Through the deployment of 5G + edge computing capabilities, online data collection of the entire production process was achieved. By real-time summarizing data and conducting big data analysis based on existing data models, the enterprise can make intelligent decisions regarding the production process.
Jiangxi Yiyang Textile Group built a 3,500 square meter smart warehouse that achieves unmanned operations in its weaving production sector. Finished fabrics are continuously delivered to the warehouse through a high-altitude corridor conveyor system, and then seamlessly connected to automated guided vehicles and stackers, significantly enhancing storage capacity and daily throughput.
Youngor Group's suit factory established an intelligent hanging system covering the entire production line based on a 5G private network, connecting cloud data customized online with the MES system, achieving seamless integration of the entire production process from cutting, sewing, ironing to warehousing and pairing. User order data is connected in real-time with the intelligent hanging system, and the MES system realizes automatic scheduling of processes.
Tongkun Group, as a chemical fiber enterprise, built an industrial big data platform for the entire polyester fiber industry chain based on a 5G private network, achieving global visibility of data across devices, systems, factories, and regions. It developed dozens of industrial apps and numerous industrial mechanism models and scenario applications, enabling comprehensive analysis of upstream and downstream business in the industry chain.
